Ibrahimovic blasts 'caviar-eating' Paris Saint-Germain fans

The striker believes the Parisian faithful have become spoilt over the past two seasons and insists that he is unconcerned by his Ligue 1 goal drought

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic lashed out at the club's "caviar-eating" supporters after Laurent Blanc's men were whistled during Friday's 1-0 victory over Rennes at the Parc des Princes.

Ezequiel Lavezzi scored the only goal of the game in the French capital, capping off a wonderful team move just before the half-hour mark as the reigning Ligue 1 champions closed to within a point of table-toppers Lyon.

Whistles rang around the arena for much of the match, however, and Ibrahimovic has insinuated that the fanbase has become spoilt by the club's success over the past two years.

"I'm disappointed," the striker is quoted as saying by France Football. "We played a very good game and we won, so I do not understand.

"We do not understand what people want. Whether we win or lose, people whistle! Maybe they have the habit of eating caviar before we come?

"As the press must have noticed, we are more confident in our game. We are playing more like we have to. We did not score a lot of goals, but the most important thing is to register one more than the opponent and win."

Ibrahimovic once again failed to find the back of the net, meaning he has now gone 582 minutes without a goal from open play in Ligue 1 - his worst run since arriving in France in 2012.

However, the Sweden international is unconcerned by his drought and pointed out that he played a key role in Lavezzi's crucial strike, which had come at the end of a terrific team move also involving Javier Pastore and Adrien Rabiot.

"The goal scored was amazing, probably the best since this season began," the forward added.

"Personally, I feel very good. I hit a lot of through-balls tonight and I tried to create opportunities for my team.

"Now we must just focus on us. Obviously Marseille and Lyon are there fighting for the title too, but if we play as we know how, I'm not worried."

Lyon can restore their four-point lead over PSG by winning their game in hand at Monaco on Sunday, while Marseille would reclaim second place with a victory over Evian on Saturday.
