The striker joined the Rossoneri on loan from Roma and says he cannot wait to start playing, while Adriano Galliani hailed the signing but said it would be the club's last
Mattia Destro says he is delighted to be given the opportunity to play for AC Milan and says the team wants to prove that it is a great one.
The striker joined Milan from Roma on Thursday on an initial loan deal until the end of the season but with an option for a permanent transfer.
And the forward says he cannot wait to start playing and help the team improve on their poor opening half of the campaign, starting on Sunday against Parma.
"I'm very happy to be here and to be part of this group," he told Milan News.
"I have already spoken to Filippo Inzaghi, there is a strong drive to do well and to prove that Milan is a great team, starting from this Sunday.
"I can't wait to get on to the pitch and play. As for my role, the coach will decide. I have a great desire to impress.
"This is a great opportunity for me, I can't wait to play and get to know everyone."
Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani is happy to see an "enthusiastic" forward join the club, adding that the 23-year-old will be the last signing the club make in the January transfer window.
"I'm happy. Enthusiasm is important, but I hope that it can be turned into positive results," he said.
"Giampaolo Pazzini will stay. As for Pablo Armero, we have an agreement with Genoa, but for now the player does not accept the destination. Luca Antonelli is not part of the deal.
"Our incoming market is closed. M'Baye Niang is a Milan player on loan to Genoa until the end of the season and I wish him the best. Ezequiel Munoz is not coming."
