Ronaldo is not a selfish player, says Ancelotti

following a stellar start to 2014-15
Real Madrid coach Carlo
Ancelotti says claims
that Cristiano Ronaldo is a
selfish player are misguided
and that he is willing to play in
any position required to help
his team.

The Portugal forward - who has been plagued with
minor injuries in 2014 - has started the new season in
spectacular fashion, scoring 17 goals in 11 competitive
games.

Having starred in Real Madrid's route to Champions
League success last campaign, Ronaldo is very much in
the running to hold on to his Ballon d'Or award in
January, however there remain some who consider him
a selfish footballer.

But Ancelotti has attempted to dismiss such claims as
false and does not believe that the attacker's success
has turned him into a player who only cares about
himself.

"Ronaldo is a player with boundless talent, who can
score 50 goals per season," the former Chelsea and
Paris Saint-Germain boss told So Foot.

"More importantly, I can say that he provides plenty of
help to his team-mates and his coach.

"Cristiano is not selfish, he plays in any position he his
asked to."

Real Madrid are back in action after the international
break - in which Ronaldo is expected to be deployed for
Portugal in Fernando Santos' first games in charge -
against Levante on October 18 as they continue their
pursuit of La Liga table-toppers Barcelona.
